Who We Are

Thomas Holloway, President

Thomas_200pxBorn in Scotland and educated at university in Glasgow, Thomas Holloway first came to Canada 40 years ago. He learned his craft as a consumer goods marketer with Colgate – Palmolive in North, Central and South America and in Europe.

Following a term as Director of Marketing for Colgate in the UK in the early ‘80’s, he returned to Canada as the President of Playtex Canada. From there he joined London Life, where he spent 8 years in senior marketing roles in both the individual and group insurance businesses. As Vice President of Marketing for Group Insurance, Thomas headed a team of product developers and pricing specialists whose role was to build and market group insurance products for all sizes of employer and union sponsored plans.

In spring of 1998 Thomas established Pharmex Direct Inc., a company dedicated to finding innovative solutions to help employers and insurers with the challenge of balancing the care of the employees’ health with the cost of the health benefit plan. Pharmex offers a number of solutions including, direct delivery pharmacy, formulary design and management and pre-authorization processes.

In 1999 he established ReVue Drug Evaluation Group Inc. ReVue carries out new drug evaluations on behalf of third-party payors in both the public and private sectors.

In 2002 he established Equitus Consulting Inc. Equitus operates the Reimbursement Assistance Centre (RAC), a bi-lingual call center specializing in helping patients obtain coverage for orphan drugs and medical devices such as insulin pumps through employer sponsored health plans. Equitus also oversees ReVue.

Diane Lawrence, Manager, Reimbursement Assistance Centre

diane_200pxDiane is a native of Sudbury pursued her studies in psychology and sociology at Laurentian University before moving to Oakville, Ontario with her family. Prior to joining Equitus Diane worked in a multi-practitioner medical clinic where she gained valuable medical knowledge which has proven to be a great asset to Equitus.

Diane joined Equitus in 2003 and today is the Manager of the Reimbursement Assistance Centre – the RAC. Fully bilingual, she enjoys the daily challenges of helping her team of Case Managers navigate the country’s major insurers as they determine private payor coverage for their clients. She has also built a strong working relationship with Equitus’ corporate clients who are amongst the country’s largest pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.

Diane’s success comes from her adaptability, interpersonal and analytical skills and her constant efforts to improve the work process

Anna Smith, Case Manager

Anna_200pxA native of Owen Sound, Ontario, Anna moved to Toronto to attend Humber College where she graduated from the licensed Pharmacy Technician Program. She worked in the retail side of Wal-Mart Pharmacy where her knowledge of the company’s practice management system soon earned her a role in the software support group at Wal-Mart Home Office in Mississauga.

Anna’s skill in pharmacy operations and systems caused her to be hired by Emergis Inc., Canada’s largest Pharmacy Benefit Manager, where she worked in both the Drug Services and Client Services teams.

In 2005 she joined Equitus as a member of the Reimbursement Assistance Centre where she has been given a number of increasingly important positions.
